MPWT Launches Personalised Motorcycle Plates
Registration plate in Cambodia
Cambodia's Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has officially launched a new initiative allowing motorcycle owners to personalise their licence plates, marking a significant shift in the country's vehicle registration system.
Motorcycle enthusiasts can now customise their plates with specific names, letters, or numbers, up to a maximum of eight characters. This move aims to provide a unique identity for motorbikes and cater to the growing demand for personalised vehicle identifiers.
The personalised plates are available for purchase through the ministry's automated system, streamlining the process for applicants. This initiative follows a successful pilot program and aligns with MPWT's broader efforts to modernise vehicle registration services in Cambodia.
Previously, the MPWT introduced personalised plates for cars, which proved to be a lucrative venture, generating significant revenue for the ministry. The extension of this service to motorcycles is expected to further boost the ministry's income while offering motorcyclists a chance to express individuality through their vehicles.
For more information or to apply for a personalised motorcycle plate, interested individuals can visit the official MPWT website or contact their local vehicle registration office.
