The adventure begins with an early departure from Siem Reap, riding eastwards through quiet countryside and small villages. The first major stop is Beng Mealea, a sprawling temple complex engulfed by jungle, where moss-covered stones and giant tree roots create an atmosphere of mystery and discovery. After exploring, the journey continues north to Koh Ker, once the capital of the Khmer Empire. Here, the highlight is Prasat Thom, a striking seven-tiered pyramid temple that towers above the surrounding forest. The day ends with an overnight stay in a simple guesthouse near the ruins, offering a chance to experience the charm of rural Cambodia.

From Koh Ker, the ride pushes deeper into the north, with a long but rewarding stretch of about 160 kilometers through open countryside. The destination is the legendary Preah Vihear Temple, perched dramatically on a cliff along the Thai border and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The final ascent to the temple cannot be done on personal motorbikes; instead, riders transfer to a 4x4 vehicle (about $25) or a moto-taxi (about $5) for the steep climb. At the top, the vast temple complex offers sweeping views across Cambodia and into Thailand. After exploring, the group rides a short distance to Sra’aem, a quiet town where the night is spent in a local guesthouse.

The third day is the longest ride of the tour, covering between 150 and 178 kilometers depending on the chosen route. The road south winds through remote villages and farmland, showcasing a side of Cambodia few travelers get to see. The landscape shifts gradually from flat plains to forested hills as the group approaches the foothills of Phnom Kulen, Cambodia’s sacred mountain. By late afternoon, riders arrive at a small lodge near the base of the mountain, where they spend the evening relaxing and preparing for the final day of exploration.

The last day begins with an exploration of Phnom Kulen National Park, a site of deep spiritual and historical importance. A short jungle trek leads to Kbal Spean, the River of a Thousand Lingas, where intricate carvings line the riverbed. Continuing deeper into the park, riders visit Preah Ang Thom Pagoda, home to Cambodia’s largest reclining Buddha, before reaching the famous Phnom Kulen waterfalls, the perfect spot for a refreshing swim. After enjoying the mountain’s highlights, the group rides the final 53 kilometers back to Siem Reap, arriving by late afternoon and completing the circuit with a mix of adventure, culture, and unforgettable memories.
