“The Real Cambodia Starts Where the Pavement Ends. 3 Epic Days on a Super Cub”
Explore Remote northern temples, stunning landscapes, and sacred mountains.
A rural adventure from Siem Reap
Experience Cambodia like never before with our unique, relaxed-paced touring adventure. We trade the rush and stress for the easy charm of the legendary Honda Super Cub from 70 to 110cc. This tour is designed for full immersion, with nights spent at a camp and in a homestay.
We take our time, stop whenever we feel like it, and connect deeply with the landscapes and local communities. It is one of the most enjoyable and authentic ways to experience the heart of the Kingdom.
🏍️Our fleet features well-maintained Honda Super Cub models, ranging from 70cc to 90cc, perfectly suited for Cambodian road conditions. Pace & Focus: Slow, deliberate travel. Focus is on spontaneous breaks, photography, interacting with locals, and enjoying the ride, rather than rushing between major landmarks.

Depart from the Siem Reap Mototom shop at 8:00 to 8:30 AM, riding along the Siem Reap River and through traditional Cambodian villages before taking a drink break at Ongrerng Café or at the coffee place near the ghost lake. We then stop at Chaw Srei Vibol temple before visiting an unusual mangrove forest in the middle of nowhere. After a relaxed two hour ride and about 68 km in total, we will have lunch in the countryside, probably at ភោជនីយដ្ឋាន រំដួលសរសី.
We will then head to Beng Mealea, a sprawling temple covered by the jungle that predates Angkor Wat. We take the time needed to explore its crumbling galleries for an Indiana Jones experience. After that, we continue up to Phnom Kulen, about 25 km away. The road uphill is especially fun, with gentle twisties, lush green nature on both sides, and beautiful views as we climb. We arrive in the mid afternoon, set up our tents at a peaceful campsite near the mountain, where you can enjoy a nice walk or simply relax, and then spend a quiet evening surrounded by nature and the river.
-
We start at 8:30 AM with a breakfast and an exhilarating, scenic descent. Our morning begins on a concrete twisty road going down the hill toward Svay Leu, where we can get a coffee, pastries and snacks as a light breakfast, unless we spot a fresh local breakfast being cooked along the way. The road offers beautiful views all the way down. Once we reach the foothills, we continue on the classic red earth roads of rural Cambodia, perfect for slow cruising and authentic encounters with locals and local markets.
Our main morning activity is a stop at Kbal Spean. We take the time to enjoy a quiet visit to the "River of a Thousand Lingas" and the small waterfall, ensuring we have plenty of time for photos and relaxation before lunch at a local eatery.
In the early afternoon, we'll check the availability for a guided tour at the Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity (ACCB) (starting around 1:30 PM). If we can join a group, we will learn about the rescue and breeding programs for endangered species. (If the ACCB tour is unavailable, we will shift our cultural visit to the APOPO Center on Day 3 instead.)
Finally, we continue our slow ride to the area near Banteay Srei. We settle in for the night at a friendly homestay, ready to enjoy the tranquil village setting and a home-cooked dinner.
-
Depart at 8:00 AM for Phnom Kulen, the sacred mountain where the Khmer Empire began. Visit highlights such as the other part of the “River of a Thousand Lingas,” Preah Ang Thom pagoda with its 8-meter reclining Buddha carved from sandstone, and Phnom Kulen Waterfalls for a refreshing swim (bring swimwear and towels). Lunch can be a picnic or enjoyed in a nearby commune.
In the afternoon, we descend through the Angkor Archaeological Park, about 50 km, riding past the ancient walls and gates of Angkor Thom. We stop at the Apopo Visitor Center to learn about the HeroRATs, giant African pouched rats trained to detect landmines, unless we have already visited the Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity. If time allows, we can also stop at the Angkor Botanical Garden on the way back. We return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon, around 4 to 5 PM.
End the journey with a farewell dinner in town after returning our motorbikes, giving everyone a chance to relax and share their experiences from the three days together.

🦺Insurance:
👉 We recommend travel insurance for added protection and accident insurance.
Your safety is crucial when exploring Cambodia. Make sure your travel insurance provides coverage at all times.
💡Remember:
You need a valid motorcycle license from your home country for motorbikes over 125cc.
An International Driving Permit (IDP) is mandatory in Cambodia for riders on a tourist visa (if riding over 125cc motorbikes).
Mototom is not responsible for accidents or personal damages. We cover minor wear and scratches, but serious damage caused by improper use of the motorbike is your responsibility. Safety is our top priority.
Without proper insurance or a valid license, you may be liable for all costs, which could be very high.
⛑️We provide helmets for the tour (ECE safety).
